Inspired Neuropsychiatry

Brain, Mind & the Human Experience. Inspired Neuropsychiatry explores brain, mind and mental health wherever they reveal themselves — in the clinic, in science, in art, music, film, history, cultural archetypes and everyday human experience. This is the foundational Neurokrish category.
Neurokrish Podcast
It encompasses conventional neuropsychiatric subjects such as epilepsy, dementia, emotion and neurodevelopment, but deliberately travels beyond the clinic into consciousness, creativity, neuroaesthetics, relationships, spirituality and culture. The important classification principle is that the subject of enquiry is brain, mind or mental health. Art, cinema, spirituality or a cultural archetype may provide the lens through which that enquiry takes place without changing its essential neuropsychiatric character. Thus The Alienated Brain uses Taxi Driver to explore alienation and psychopathology, while The Samurai Mind uses a historical and cultural archetype to explore identity, adaptation and mental health. Both remain Inspired Neuropsychiatry. Similarly, spirituality alone does not make an episode Indic Neurophilosophy. The Monk’s Brain, The Enlightenment Network, Almighty Within and Seizures & Spiritual Seekers investigate spiritual or transcendent experiences primarily through brain and mind and therefore belong here.
